"various changes"
This is a "found poem", or a poem discovered by highlighting certain words and phrases of a published book. In this case, the page is from Speak, Memory, by Vladimir Nabokov.
The book itself was in poor condition, so pages were removed and salvaged to be renewed as individual pieces of art.
The poem is revealed through careful selection, with ink and pencil highlighting certain words. Color and shape help distract the viewer from the non-essential words.
The poem reads:
there are various changes
much less important
between
clusters of words
spirited fights.
the question of
permission
rather astonishing
the ritualistic
rhythm
strayed into
his little head
again and again
The book page is about 5"W x 8"H, on an ecru colored page, hand colored with black ink, and highlighted with graphite pencil accents.
Please note, frame and/or mat shown are as a display suggestion only, and are not included with purchase.
